Louis Henn's view from North Adelaide looking South East

A view from Kingston Street overlooking Stanley, Melbourne & Jerningham Streets, the latter being the home of the Lion Brewing and Malting Company whose smoke stack we can see. Yet another of the famous Adelaide brewery with its great stone buildings that were built in the mid 1850's by William James Bailey (1827-1899) and Frederick Stanley. Adelaide was a "Paradise of Dissent", deemed necessary to reduce creed hurdles for required skilled settlers, and consequently became known as the "City of Churches", as all denominations built a church to worship.  However, on every other corner there was a local Inn or malting creating Brewing empires.
