Children Education Pictorial Lessons on Form, Comparison & Number

Pictures were beneficial tools used to educate children before the introduction of compulsory education introduced into South Australia in July 1875. Today our classrooms are places of technology ie computers, calculators and virtual realities. In the days of governesses and early education, lessons were taught in awareness of the everyday: many jobs were often manual, Horse and Carriage is a common mode of transport, houes were made of wood and fires were common caused by lamps, candles, open fires for warmth and cooking, and before supermarkets food was often grown in a productive garden.
