Australian Flora & Fauna in the 1790's
This print was taken from original copper engravings published in 1789 after early settlement of Australia at Port Jackson in 1788 (later named Sydney) and is a testimony to European facination with botany and zoology to have been prepared so early. The naivity is due the artist not being able to study the live specimen back in London.
IDEAL FOR THE NATURALIST.
