Diallling and we think of telephany but in 1788 the title of this book gives more contemporary context: "The Young Gentleman's Astronomy, Chronology and Dialling, containing such elements of the said Arts or Sciences, as the most useful and easy to be known" Published in 1736. This was all about Astronomy and Mathematics! In the bottom Right there is a "Tide Dial".
